Anthony Mason recently interviewed actor Benedict Cumberbatch about Alan Turing the man who broke Germany’s supposedly unbreakable Enigma code.  Cumberbatch portrays Turing in The Imitation Game which will be in theaters on November 21.

Hitler made it quite clear that Paris had to be burned to the ground if his army was forced to retreat.  It was saved from total destruction in part by a verbal chess match between a German general and a Swedish diplomat.  That event is at the heart of the new film Diplomacy which is based on a French play.

A Fox TV series is being developed that will feature many of the characters in the Archie comic books.

Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events book series will be adapted by Netflix as a live-action series.  The streaming company has recently been successful with House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black and hope that the Snicket adaptation will appeal to both parents and children
